This is a wonderful mid century modern pottery bowl is hand inscribed C. 104/26 Italy on the bottom. Made by Bitossi in the Vetrata design, which translates to stained glass window. Vetrata was designed by Aldo Londi and produced during the mid 1960s. The bowl is footed with a multicoloured gloss glaze in the middle that is meant to replicate a stained glass window. The rim is finished in matte brown and the underside is finished in a wonderful gloss purple glaze.. The piece measures 9 square and 3 in height. It is in very good condition with light surface wear consistent with age. Great form and glaze. I havent seen other examples of Vetrata that are exactly like this bowl, so a wonderful addition to a collection or just a great display piece for a modern decor!
