Offered is a vintage blue stoneware bowl measure 7.5 inches across stand 3 1/2 inches tall no chips or cracks. There is a blemish in the glazing around the rim on one side and on the edge on the opposing side. Please see pictures for closer details. Underneath side marked faintly rock holes pottery 1870 White Hall ILL. I’ll add one last picture from a similar bowl to help identify the identity of the stamp.
Vintage MCM aqua blue stoneware vessel made by American ceramic artist Rupert Deese, and described by Deese as an “oblate spheroid, softly squared”. Approximate dimensions: 4″ high x 7.5″ in diameter. Weighs just shy of 3 lbs 7 ounces. Signature: “RD” impressed signet, with artist’s original paper labels and paper card. Condition: No chips, cracks, or restoration. There are two minuscule popped glaze bubbles located side by side on the exterior of the vessel, as pictured. They are quite difficult to see, but you can feel the slight protrusion of the bubbles when you run your fingertips across the surface. Thank you for looking.
Vintage 10.5-11 Cobalt Blue Yellow Ware Bowl. This is the largest of a set of nesting bowls with a depth of 3.5. This particular design is called Blue Venetian, and it was introduced in the 1940s. This is a heavy bowl with wide body. The rim is decorated with a picket fence pattern, and the lower part of the bowl has a honeycomb design. There is no foot base; the bowl sits on eight small ridges on the bottom. Pre-owned but good condition with some smaller chips on side and bottom, see pictures. This is a rarer Yellow Ware bowl. How lovely is this – Ceramic Bowl straight sides like a casserole or soufflé style bowl – Blue trim with blue flowers and a few yellow. Stands 4 3/4″ tall and 8″ diameter. Unfortunately no makers marks to help date this. No chips but does show some cracking in the glazing shown in the photos.
Brolli For Biordi Italy Pottery Blue Carnation 2Pc Vintage 9.5 Pasta Bowls. Set Of Two B. Brolli Signed For Biordi Italy Pottery Blue Carnation Pattern Vintage 9 1/2 Pasta / Soup Bowls. These are in Excellent Condition with No Chips No Cracks No Crazing. Brolli signed pasta soup bowls for Biordi Art Imports. These are in the Blue Carnation pattern which was inspired by the Japanese Imari style showing a stylized representation of the Japanese garden. In the 17th Century this pattern, produced mostly in the famous maiolica town of Faenza, became a favorite china dinnerware all over the world. Each piece is signed by the artist Bruno Brolli of Rimini Italy. These are heavy quality Bowls. For more information SEE picture #12. The Carnation design was interpreted in Lodi, and later became the banner pattern of Faenza, the maiolica town that then popularized the pattern. Bruno Brolli, from Rimini, the artist and original owner of Bruno Brolli & Art. Co Artisan Workshop retired and turned over the workshop to his apprentice Roberto del Vecchio. These were made especially for Biordi Art Imports, a San Francisco institution that opened in 1946 and is known as “the place” for high quality and original artistic Majolica.
