This vintage ceramic plate bowl features an elegant shallow design that seamlessly blends rustic texture with refined mid-century styling. Produced by the historic studio Løvemose Keramik on the Danish island of Langeland, the piece showcases a deep chocolate brown matte base body contrasted by an ivory white glossy glaze along the rim. The smooth interior basin is beautifully decorated with an incised geometric concentric line pattern, a classic hallmark of mid-century Scandinavian studio pottery from the Mid-Century Modern 1960s. Expertly handcrafted from durable stoneware clay, the bowl exhibits a satisfying weight and a rich, tactile surface variation. The stark white glaze pools nicely within the upper interior, thinning out toward the edges to reveal hints of the dark under-clay. The reverse side features a completely unglazed dark stoneware finish and proudly bears the stamped workshop signature “Løvemose Made in Denmark” directly on the base. This versatile shallow bowl is perfect for introducing a sophisticated layer of Scandinavian modern design to a tabletop or wall shelf layout. Use it as a structural catchall dish for an entryway console table, a low centerpiece bowl on a teak dining table, or as a distinct sculptural accent alongside other earthy mid-century pottery. Vintage condition with age-appropriate wear consistent with use.
This charming, small ceramic bowl captures the quintessential rustic minimalism of European mid-century production. Shape-molded with a clean, low-profile cylindrical silhouette, the exterior is accented by a highly tactile, volcanic-textured brown band that mimics a natural horizon or geological formation. The striking contrast between the smooth white surface and the frothy, earthy glaze creates an understated artistic statement, placing it firmly in the Mid-Century Modern 1970s. Crafted from a durable ceramic clay, the bowl is finished in a smooth, semi-matte creamy white glaze across the interior and exterior walls. The underside reveals an unglazed terracotta-toned ring base surrounding a glazed center, which bears a stamped maker’s mark alongside the numeric stamps “83″ and 13. Perfectly scaled for functional versatile placement, this small dish serves beautifully as a tabletop salt cellar, a desk catchall for paperclips, or an elegant ring dish on a bedroom vanity. Its neutral tones and organic textures slip effortlessly into Scandinavian modern, minimalist, or contemporary bohemian spaces. 4.3″W × 4.3″D × 1.7H. Vintage condition with age-appropriate wear consistent with use.
