A vintage terracotta redware bowl with a green and yellow glaze. The bowl is unmarked, but this is probably a piece of Italian pottery, or possibly Spanish. The bowl is approximately 11 inches diameter and 3.25 inches tall, and is in excellent condition with no chips, no cracks, just a few tiny glaze rubs and some light wear and crazing. The bowl is hand painted; a figural of a man in a religious outfit and a griffin within the bowl. It has the spelling of Generale Civitatis PervsII StvdIvm. Signed in black on back side; cannot read what it says. There is a wire hanger on backside. Shelf wear on ridge, scuff on ceramic on edge showing underlying pottery and a small tiny flea bite on edge. Any flaws; made that way, whether it’s lumps, bumps, glaze errors spots and dots. See all pics, what you see is what you get. Measures 2 1/8″ X 12.25″.
