Vintage 1962 Whittier Potteries grape leaves 14-1/2 in. White salad serving bowl. Includes a brass stand, two utensils, and the original box. I don’t know what material this is specifically. This was a wedding present to my parents who say they only used the bowl a couple times, and not in the last few decades. There are some minor imperfections (a few tiny black specs, and a small chip on the edge) and I tried to highlight them in the photos. The bowl is about 3 in. High overall, and about 2-1/2 in. The brass plated stand has three legs, tipped with wood ball feet. It has some imperfections. The serving utensils (fork and spoon) are approx. Long, each with approx. Stock number C00374 is indicated on the box. I don’t know if BMX449 written in pencil on the box is related to the pottery.
This set is rare not too many around. I read it was from the 60′s. In pretty good condition except for a couple issues I noticed. First around top edge of bowl a spot some air pockets it appears. Second sloppy paint job on side of face. The head is heavy doesn’t stay on all that great it is like a balancing act. Overall a really nice collectors set. I do not see any chips or cracks that I noticed. Please see all pics.
