Vintage from the 1950s. Width: 24 Centimetres; Height: 5.5 Centimetres. A beautiful and large skilfully crafted Pottery Bowl by Fratelli Fanciullacci. Incised Decoration of Four Women. Signed on reverse 671/2732/2 ITALY. 24 cm (9.45 inches) in Diameter x 5.5 cm (2.165 inches) in height and rim is 1 cm. 1100 g (38.8 ounces). (No chips or cracks). The brothers Fanciullacci was prolific Italian pottery, who’s work is starting to become more widely known in the past few years, and is keenly sought amongst collectors. As a style it is hard to pin down as there were so many styles and produced – on a variety of clay bodies. Also, because most records were lost it is hard to identify designers or artist – except it is known that Aldo Londi worked there prior to going to Bitossi. Pieces from the FF factory were rarely marked – except for some pieces simply marked FF. Most though will have nothing or simply “Italy” and a number. After a while however, with experience, pieces by this maker start to stand out from the rest. In good condition see pictures for further information and condition.

The large bowl is all hand decorated and painted. Features a face with some sort of head covering. The head is on a type of orb. The background consists of gray or light black sweeping circular pattern effect. There are, assuming balloons with string in background with red and sometimes orange spattering. Totally bizarre, very 1950s. The word F’e appears on front next to image. Signed on back side Created by F’e Studios. The lady I bought it from said this was a promo piece used in their office; that is all I know. The bowl is in good condition with no chips/cracks. There is an overall crazing to piece. The backside crazing is more predominant withsome light brown tinge in the crackles in areas. There are many pottery pinholes on piece; especially in interior and sometimes dimples in pottery along with lumps bumps spots and dots. As with art pottery, anything goes. A tape residue patch inside upper right side. Cool plate; probably one of a kind.
