Created by Frederick Rhead and often referred to as the “salad nappie”. 11 5/16″ wide from rim to rim, 4 1/2 wide at base and 3″ tall. There are three spots found under the rim. These are not defects, but rather markings where stilts held up the bowl while in the kiln. Some scratching in the interior of the bowl due to normal use/ age. One small spot on the rim that appears to be an area that did not get glazed. Please review all photos.

Likely the LAST of these complete Specialty Salad Sets in the ORIGINAL BOX – includes the already rare 9 diameter Large Forest Green Rhythm salad bowl made by Homer Laughlin and 6 Chartreuse Green Salad Bowls (the Rhythm cereal/soup bowls but used as completers for the salad set) with the original matching Chartreuse Styson 1952 NY Salad Utensils in classic mid century modern bamboo pattern. Original box has mark on the side: From Pitman Dreitzer Company Inc, Specialty Salad Set, Waldorf 335 from Homer Laughlin China. The large 9 salad bowls were likely made just for this promotional specialty salad set, which you typically find alone (we have a standalone one in the store). This Rhythm line set is classic mid century modern and timeless. The bowl design is beautiful and sleek with just a simple, round line. A great color for Christmas, the holidays, or for your green loving friend! Designed by Don Schreckengost, Rhythm was a plain round coupe shape line of dinnerware developed in the spring of 1950. Rhythm was put into production on September 25, 1950, and was made with decals and in five solid colors: burgundy, chartreuse, forest green, gray, and Harlequin yellow. Solid colored Rhythm was part of the general trade and was carried by many retailers. Rhythm flatware was sometimes paired with hollowware from other shapes to create new lines. Rhythm flatware was often mixed with Cavalier Eggshell hollowware. Dura-Print lines called for Rhythm flatware with Charm House (and later Studio) hollowware. Condition: New in box! Every other set on the market is glazed. Completely through this set is only glazed and the inner parts the outer part is its natural texture! Makers mark reads MADE IN CALIFORNIA USA R-133-155 (Salad Bowl). Serving Bowl measures 18.25″ long by 10.25″ wide. Salad Bowls measure roughly 7.8″ long by 5″ wide.
