Haviland Limoges Dish Covered Hand Painted Sky Blue Pink Dogwood. This listing is for a Haviland Limoges Blue Covered Dish Hand Painted with sprigs of Pink Dogwood Flowers. After some research, I found that Haviland did indeed start out as a decorating company and bought blanks from other quality porcelain manufacturers. And then started their own manufacture and the rest is history. The color blue is a beautiful sky blue. The hand painted pink dogwood flowers on their branches are exquisite. Condition: In amazing condition with no crazing, chips, hairlines or cracks. Approximate Measurements: 7 inches wide outer dimension 5 inches actual bowl 10/14 inches long from handle to handle 9 inches long actual bowl 4-1/4 inches high with lid in place 2-1/2 inches high w/out lid. And weighs approximately 3 pounds 6 ounces without packing materials. Thanks for stopping by. Please review the photos. As they are considered to be part of the description. There are many variations in porcelain and patterns. This item may not necessarily be. An exact match to items that you already own. Please remember to scroll down to the end of the listing. As there are times I receive questions and they will be answered there. So I have added an addendum to the description for. Something that I may have forgotten. They usually are antique or vintage. Can be a hundred or more years old and have been gently used. Edge wear on gold is to be considered as normal and the usual. Also, please remember that old glass. And porcelain were not manufactured. With the sophisticated technology that we have today. Therefore there may be glaze pops. Black pin dots, and minor factory flaws. Excellent Condition, Mint Condition. Or any descriptive term used when describing. The physical attributes of glass and porcelain. Are very, very subjective. What I may consider very good condition. Someone else may disagree. Keeping this in mind, I will make every. Effort to objectively describe the item at hand. Approximate sizes and weights are always included in the description. Please examine the photos carefully; as they are to be considered. Part of the description. Read the description and ask all questions before purchasing. Exquisite Decorative 10 1/2 Bowl. DESCRIPTION: The unique centerpiece bowl was produced with beautiful hand painted pink flowers & green leaves. The pink flowers are nestled in their green leaves. Actually, there are several features that are truly eye-catching. One is the gold medallions that are embossed and painted in solid gold paint. Another is the gold swirls which form the cartouches containing the pink roses. The light green washes that fade to white in the center of the bowl are outstanding. There are even grey ghost leaves to give depth to the painting. The rim has a dark green band of varying width that has stippled gold on the edge. The beading separates the green band from the cartouches. This makes a beautiful display piece or can be used daily. CONDITION: While this bowl is classified as used, the condition is superb. There are no chips, nicks, cracks, rubbings, scratches or hairlines. There are no utensil marks & no wear to the gold. DIMENSIONS: The bowl has a diameter of 10 1/2″ with a height of 2 3/16″. Is frequently incorrectly named as Lewis Straus & Sons. But, in fact, the company of Lazarus Straus & Sons was founded in 1869 and successfully specialized in the import and resale of glass and ceramics. By 1874, Nathan Straus (one of 4 sons of Lazarus) convinced Macy’s to allow the shop-in-shop chinaware departments in all their stores. So successful was the venture that they formed the U. Based New York & Rudolstadt Pottery Company, Inc. To import from the Rudolstadt Works in Thurginia, Germany. With expanding business, Lazarus Straus opened subsidiaries in France L. Limoges, a decorating studio and Bohemia while maintaining a glass importing business in London. Lazarus died in 1898 and, by 1896, Nathan had full control of the business which he retained until 1930 when it closed. In 1924, he renamed the business Nathan Straus and Sons. The source for the above is: Bohemian Decorated Porcelain by Dr. Henderson and the subscribed web source porcelainmarksandmore. The orange decorator overglaze mark on the bowl is mark #1 in Mary Frank Gaston’s Collector’s Encyclopedia of Limoges Porcelain, 3rd Edition. This mark was used from 1891 to the mid 1920′s. The green underglaze mark is one that Gaston cites as an unidentified mark #2 used after 1891. Please view all pictures carefully as they are part of the description. The stand was used as a photo prop and is not part of this listing. See additional international policies below. This is ready to use or display with pride in your home. Up for sale today are vintage pieces of art pottery from different makers, most are from the late 1800′s. This is a rose bowl from Limoges France, probably from early 1900′s. It is from Tressemann and Vogt Co. It has a beautiful floral design with four gold feet and a gold rim. The bottom of this bowl is not glazed, it is pourous so the mark is worn. It measures approximately 4 3/8″ tall, the bowl is 3″ deep, and 7 1/2 wide. All of my items come from auctions and estate sales so even if they are in new looking condition I have to list as used so please look at pictures. While you are here why not take a look around my store. I have many unique and hard to find items. Thanks so much for looking.
