A earthenware German Frankfurt “Buckelplatte” faience blue and white delft dish or shallow bowl of 8 lobed octagonal form hand painted underglaze with chinoiserie decoration after Chinese Wanli / Kangxi designs, the center with a figure in a landscape surrounded by alternating foliate and figural landscape paneled border. Measures 13.25″ by 2.25″. Condition: chips to underside of rim, small tight hairline on underside (view final photo). Shiny glaze, no noteable crazing, presents beautifully.
