Here we have an absolutely stunning white-bodied sugar bowl with its lid. In the bowl and lid glaze you can see deep red, brown, blue and white glaze applied to the outside allowing it to flow creating this beautiful marbled agate decoration. The sugar has an attractive recessed foot and applied handles. The domed lid has an easy to hold button knob handle. On the widest part of the outside of the bowl there are small spots where this sugar rubbed against another sugar resulting in glaze loss before this was fired in the kiln. This was covered with clear glaze in the final firing. Measuring 6″ across the rim by 5 ¾” in height to the top of the handle on the lid, this is in. Original mint condition with no post production damage or repairs. Both the lid and bowl and rings like a bell when you tap them. The underside of the recessed foot is stamped “SARREGUEMINES”. This was a French pottery founded in 1790, they were to France what Wedgwood was to England. This is an extremely rare mocha decorated signed sugar and any advanced collector would be pleased to add to their collection.
1940′s Dorothy Kindell turtle trinket box. (or what every you choose to use it for). The glaze has crazing to it. When looking at the close up pictures of the crazing, please remember that they are close up pictures. 2 chips on one foot. There are 2 pictures of his foot with the spots. The picture of the side of his foot has 3 white spots showing. The spot to the left is the chip and the other 2 spots is the foot reflecting the sunlight. I think the very end of its tail has a tiny spot of glaze missing. I do not think it is chipped, but which every it maybe, there is a tiny spot/issue on the end of its tail. White dot on the top of its head. You cannot feel it when you run your fingernail across it. Great color and shine. Inside its belly is clean. Great display piece and very hard to find. Please look the pictures over.

The pattern and overall form is intriguing and beautiful. The color is rich and glossy throughout the entire piece with the blue glaze pooling present. The inside of the bowl is excellent with no scratching of scuffing. We have not seen another bowl in this pattern and large size. We have seen more cake stands then this form and pattern. This is a fresh to the market example in excellent original untouched condition. We only see a discolored glob of ironstone on the one scallop on the outer edge of the bowl and some spotty overall crazing. There is also some usage discoloration on the bottom foot of the bowl. We pictured these areas and mention them for accuracy. This is a excellent rare example and would look great displayed with a early ironstone Cake Stand.
