Presented today is this beautiful Hopi vintage ceramic bowl, depicting 2 highly stylized Eagles in the Sikyatki Revival Style. The piece is 7 inches across and 4 inches tall. It dates from around 1940. It is the work of M. Mahle, whom i believe is the mother of the famous Gloria Mahle. The work is beautiful, and shows a predictable amount of fading on the decoration. The piece displays a broken spirit line, a traditional motif that usually predates pottery intended for resale. There are no chips or cracks. Hopi pieces have always been wildly collectible, and this one will look great in your collection. As always, Best Regards, Rich.
#4 Size COBALT, No Rings in interior bottom. Metal marks or mixing marks on. YELLOW, No rings interior bottom. #6 size RED, Rings in the interior bottom. Very small chips around the rim. Tiny mixing chips interior bottom. I noticed an area where the color appears darker on the interior at the top and a dark color area on the exterior. Still a beautiful bowl. These bowls are pottery so the color can’t always be perfect. See pictures for the size measurements. The years I have determined for these bowls are from. Information from the book Fiesta, Harlequin, Kitchen Kraft Dinnerwares. A Schiffer Book for Collectors. If you have any questions or need more pictures, please ask.
