Antique Majolica Pottery Ivy & Berry and Pear Fruit Molded Compote. The mauve glazed interior. With a band of ivy and berry molded around the outside of the bowl. Raised on a textured tapering stem and molded with pears and leaves at the base. The exterior glazed in a brown and green tortoise glaze. The interior of the foot in yellow glaze. For you to consider is a vintage Majolica glazed ceramic Capuchin monkey compote, tazza, or fruit bowl. Perched on a tree branch, an absolutely charming light tan monkey is shaded by a canopy of tree limbs and deep emerald green leaves which comprise the shallow bowl above. Standing 11.75 in height, the shallow dish measures 8.5 in diameter and is 2 deep. The monkey base measures 8.5 in length and is 5 wide. No hallmark is found. Very light uniform crazing is seen on close inspection but is not visible unless intentionally looking for it under bright light and is not distracting. The piece is in beautiful condition no chips, cracks, stains, prior repairs, or other compromising imperfections found. Wear is appropriate for age and history of use, so please review the photos as they are a descriptive part of the listing. Vintage Waylande Gregory Pottery Bowl Studio Sculpture Fused Glass Compote Plate

Original Vintage Waylande Gregory Studio Pottery Fused Glass Bowl. Waylande Gregory was considered a major American sculptor during the 1930′s, although he worked in ceramics, rather than in the more traditional bronze or marble. Exhibiting his ceramic works at such significant American venues for sculpture as the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York City and at the venerable Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in Philadelphia, he also showed his ceramic sculptures at leading New York City galleries. Gregory was the first modern ceramist to create large scale ceramic sculptures, some measuring more than 70 inches in height. Similar to the technique developed by the ancient Etruscans, he fired his ceramic sculptures. Gregory achieved critical success and reached the peak of his artistic powers in the 1930s. After 1940, he no longer created monumental ceramic sculptures, but instead focused on production porcelains in Many Leading retail stores such as Mary Ryan, Tiffany & Company, B. Saks Fifth Avenue, Lord & Taylor , Neiman Marcus, Bonwit Tellers, Gump’s, Hammacher Schlemmer , and Many More. In 1942, Gregory filed a patent for his process of fusing glass to ceramic. Nderneath the piece has Waylande Gregory Signature and U. Pat Number which is referenced in the pictures. It Measures Approx 2 Inches Tall & Approx 5 Inches in Diameter. Please keep in mind this is All Original and may have some minor wear and imperfections consistent with its age. Overall its in Great Condition as shown in the photos. VTG Italian Pottery Aldo Londi Bitossi Seta Compote Footed Console Bowl Italy. It measures 7.5 inches wide at bowl and 3.75 inches tall. It weighs 1 pound and 5.3 ounces. This bowl is a gorgeous specimen of Italian pottery with distinctive incised lines that are painted with shades of blue and white and highlighted in gold/gilt paint. The inner bowl is a cerulean blue flecked with gold. The only blemish I see is a small area on the lip of the bowl which looks like a chip but appears more to be a glaze skip.
