VINTAGE LOUIS MIDEKE 12 CHECKERBOARD CENTERPIECE BOWL. This beautiful large centerpiece bowl has a. Brown and beige checkerboard pattern with a beige circle on the interior base. The base of the bowl is incised Mideke. The only other pottery piece I have found with this checkerboard pattern is in the Whatcom Museum, however it is a much smaller piece in size. Took inspiration not only from the shape of everyday objects but also from the colors, subtle textures and minimalism found in Asian ceramic traditions. He identified as a potter but created works that in their art and elegance placed his work in galleries, museums and private art collections. 1982 to the best of my knowledge. 12″ across rim and 5 ½” from tabletop to rim edge. The bowl is in excellent condition. There are no cracks, chips or crazing. Please Look at the pictures. We have endeavored to show you this offer’s honest condition and content. As our spring & summer flowers begin to fade, so can our spirits as we anticipate winter ahead. This is a marvelously happy & colorful centerpiece from Italy. It is decorated with vibrant shades of yellow, green, purple & white – all set on a basket of woven white & banded in gold brown. It is a heavy & substantial piece! The decorations on this amazing Majolica sculpture are in raised relief – making the various flowers & fruits seem real & magical at the same time. This is a very special centerpiece & in wonderful antique condition. Object: Antique vintage Italian majolica porcelain raised fruit floral centerpiece. This is a beautiful and stunning Antique Limoges France, Centerpiece bowl. It is made of porcelain and in reticulated design with raised roses around the outside. It is footed and has gold trim. In the center it has a bouquet of hand painted flowers. It is stamped Limoges on the bottom. It is difficult to notice but there are two areas where raised rose design is damaged. Both are close together. There is a broken leaf and a broken flower petal. It measures 10 1/2 to the end of the handles on 2 sides. It is gold trimmed. Overall a highly collectable piece.
