Four Vintage Italica ARS Fish Bowls and Fish Platter. Vintage Italica ARS fish bowls are charming, hand-painted ceramic pieces from Firenze (Florence), Italy, celebrated for their vibrant, whimsical nautical and coastal themes. Revered for Italian craftsmanship, they are highly sought after by collectors and interior decorators for both functional serving and decorative displays. Design & Aesthetics: Typically shaped like abstract or irregular fish or featuring hand-painted fish motifs. The color palette is usually vivid and bright, reflecting traditional Tuscan and Mediterranean artistic styles. Craftsmanship: Made from high-quality Italian clay/ceramic and expertly hand painted. Because they are hand-crafted, no two pieces are identical. Markings: Authentic pieces generally feature a backstamp or signature on the base that reads “Italica ARS, ” “Hand Painted, ” and “Made in Italy”. Sizes & Function: They are often found in sets, with standard individual bowls measuring about 6.5 to 7.5 inches long. Antique large oval serving platter featuring elegant raised gold gilt decoration on a soft ivory porcelain ground. The piece displays a beautifully scalloped edge with applied gilt floral and foliate motifs, consistent with fine European/Bavarian style tableware from the late 19th to early 20th century. This platter is unmarked but closely resembles known Bavarian porcelain examples (including Marlboro-style pieces) in form, glaze, and raised gilt detailing. A refined decorative and functional serving piece. Small chip on underside (not visible from display side). Gold gilt shows wear and scratches consistent with age and use.
