2 Antique Minton & Co. Aesthetic Soup Plates Red Orange Arrows w Black Marked Best Body c 1859. Bowls measure 10 1/2 inches diameter. Height is 1 1/2 inch. A great find in these early Minton bowls or soup plates. One of them is marked with a scarce mark of Minton & Co. Used from 1841 to 1873. It is in black and has a Vandyke at the top and British registry mark below. The registry diamond mark dates the bowl with the black mark to Nov. Both bowls are impressed Minton BB for Best Body. They are also marked in red with lettering that appears to be BBnny? They are in remarkable condition and with no cracks or discolorations or crazing. The bowl with no black mark has a very small nick to rim on underside that is minimal and does not show from top. It also has some dark residue to the orange lustre rim. This very well may be removed with a good attempt to clean but I have not tried. They are a striking pair of early Minton! Please view all the photos as they are part of the description. Please take a look at many new items added daily. Antique china and pottery, English china, silver and sterling, estate items, antique and vintage collectibles!
