Vintage Italian True Elbee Aqua Turquoise Gold Horse 12 Bowl Wall Plate Italy

Please view photos carefully as they are part of our Description. T his is a wonderful Vintage Mid Century hand-crafted and hand-decorated large Italian Art Pottery Platter, Bowl or Wall Decor Plaque. This signed and numbered piece was crafted by Elbee in Italy. The colorization on this piece adds to it’s unique character – the mid century aqua /turquoise tones (depends on your color interpretation) are a departure from many of Elbee’s creations. This spectacular piece measures nearly 2″ high x 12″ in diameter. Elbee’s traditional horse accents the center with sprigs of leaves for added interest. The Horse is hand painted in bright gold and white with the leaves in gold. The overall piece is aqua toned with what appears to be a crackle/crazed finish technique. The reverse is brown. Small “holes” and a wire have been crafted on the underside for wall display if preferred. In very nice Vintage condition with virtually no signs of use. These older pieces are quite fragile and prone to slight shaping irregularites, pottery skips or glazing/painting blemishes. As is expected, tiny skips and pops are evident along with several pottery blemishes. These faint issues to not detract from the unique quality of this Platter. The underside is hand marked. NOTE: This piece is a TRUE Elbee creation it is NOT a Fratelli Fanciullacci, Londi, Raymor, Bitossi etc. Designs (which are spectacular in their own right). The bright gold made photos a challenge we apologize for glare. Please Remember many of our items are Vintage, Antique, or preowned. Slight evidence of wear/use is to be expected. LARGE VINTAGE BITOSSI ITALIAN POTTERY RIMINI BLUE ASHTRAY / BOWL MID CENTURY. EXQUISITE MID 20TH CENTURY MODERN ITALIAN DESIGN! Presenting a magnificent vintage Bitossi Italian pottery ashtray or bowl. This exceptionally large and impressive piece, measuring 300mms or almost 12 inches in diameter would make a striking feature in any Mid Century or modern contemporary home. This stylishly shaped piece features an exquisite floral motif to the interior. The bold design has been expertly hand brushed in competent black outline and spectacularly coloured with the rich rimini blu colours of the sea. The background has been coloured in deep cobalt blue, with rimini blu and sea green colouring the whimsical, exotic flowering plant. The underside of the bowl is finished in rimini blue, with a thick stripe of cobalt blue surrounding the upper body. Three indents to the top rim indicate this piece was originally designed as a whopping big ashtray, but this pieces appears to have never been used as such and makes a striking display piece. An exceptional, authentically vintage piece for wall feature or atop a sleek piece of teak furniture in any mid century, modernist or retro styled home! This fabulous retro Italian pottery bowl is presented in excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. There are a couple of absolutely minuscule nibbles to the glaze only at the top rim, and exceptionally. Light and fine overall surface crazing. Noticeable only on extremely close examination but mentioned for complete accuracy. This exceptional piece has been very well cared for, is extremely hard to fault and presents spectacularly. This impressive Bitossi piece stands approx 80mms tall and measures 300mms in diameter. This substantial piece weighs just over 2kgs unpackaged. Beautiful pair of hand painted vintage Italian Zebra’s from the 1950′s. Each has it’s own personality. Wonderful Art pieces to display. To get an idea of size they would make excellent gravy bowls (if you dare:) bowls, planters, sculptures, bookends, possibilities are endless. Each measures 8″ length, 6″ height, and 4 width. Some vintage wear with age. 1 rim chip as shown. Some residue on bottom rim from previous felt backing, as typical of the era. Considering the rarity of this piece, this piece is in overall beautiful, collectible condition. Natural artist imperfections as glaze misses and the like as a handmade, hand-painted work of art. Great elegant lines and intricate incised decoration on this vintage Italian art pottery bowl. Beautiful complimentary stripes of turquoise, blue and ivory are separated by lines of gold, and the gold is used to highlight some stripes with a zigzag pattern. Fine incised lines cover the inner and outer surfaces. Measures 11 inches in diameter and 4 5/8 inches tall. Signed on the bottom with Italy and the model number. In excellent vintage condition with only a very tiny bit of turquoise glaze loss at the rim (see last photo).
