10 pieces 1950′s Vintage Starburst Atomic Franciscan Dinnerware Plates Bowl Cups. These are awesome vintage pieces. All have been used. The divided serving bowl does have a small hairline on the edge as shown. There are a couple of glaze bubbles or scales that have popped off on the edge of several pieces these are naturally occurring during the glazing process — you can see some in the photos they are tiny! There are 4 cups. One divided serving bowl. Two salad plates 8 across. One luncheon plate 9.5 across. Two dinner plates 10 3/4 across. Please see pictures for actual condition. Vintage/Antique items are not in new or new-like condition – they are old and used! If you are looking for new, functional, shiny items please look close because I love old stuff that does not fit those categories very often! Please look closely at the pictures they are a large and important part of the description and show the ACTUAL CONDITION if you can’t tell from the. One of a kind stoneware set. Signed by Dierdorff 1973. Hand thrown studio pottery dinnerware set including 5 dinner plates, 5 bread and butter plates, 4 wide shallow bowls and a cream pitcher. Versatile, attractive & highly utilitarian set. Every plate has a little bit of depth to keep juices from sloshing off. These are in excellent condition! They are very heavy & solid. Measurements: 1- cream pitcher: 4″ in diameter 3.5″+ base to rim. (these are thick stoneware) 5- Plates: approx 10.5 they aren’t all exact in size – there’s one that measures almost 11 inches in diameter and the smallest is 10 3/8 in in diameter. They’re approximately 1 3/4 inches high. Each has some depth to it to keep the food on the plate. 4- Shallow bowls or Salad plates: Approx average of 9″ diameter x 2″ bottom to rim. Again, these have slight variation in height and width. 5- Small plates: approx average 6 1/2″ diameter x 1 1/4″ (varies) Each piece may be a little different in size as each were handmade/hand thrown. See our other listings for more items! 36 various Pieces of Marcrest Swiss Chalet Alpine Dinnerware “Hand decorated and made in America Detergent Proof / Oven Proof Underglazed” Included are many different pieces… A good way to round out your existing set: 8 Bowls 5 1/3″ x 1 3/8″ 8 Luncheon Plates (8 1/2″) 5 Bread Plates (6 1/4″) 5 Salad Plates (8 1/2″) 2 Serving/Chop Platters (11 1/2″) 1 Dinner Plate (10″) 7 Cups and 8 Saucers (Cups 3 1/2″ across top not including the handle x 3″ tall) (Saucers are 5 3/4″ across). Condition: No chips, nicks or repairs. There is light crazing of the clear glaze on some of the pieces, many are free of crazing… Common on this age and type of china. One of the cups has heavy crazing on the inside and some visible on the outside. A few of the plates have a small stain, typical of a rust stain but not bad; See the last photo as an example. The dinner plate has been used most and is darker with utensil marks and a small pin size black mark. The round serving platters are exquisite and a beautiful example of Mid Century colors and style. They look new with a brilliant shine; no wear or utensil marks anywhere to be found! The rest of the pieces have been used but are in considerably nice condition for the age.
