Hand painted with angular crook patterns that mirror themselves, there are 3 dots on each handle. Part of a collection, this was on display in the former owners’ home for close to 50 years. The hand built piece does not look like it was ever used. Both the interior & exterior were polished. Very good condition with some minor scuffing underneath. Bowl is a handmade treasure just waiting to join your pottery collection. Pueblo Pottery Bowl First Mesa Lucy Nahee 1950′s. This Vintage Hopi Redware Piki Bowl would have been used in the making of corn meal bread, known as piki. No decorations, this plainware style would have been made for a Hopi kitchen, not tourists. This was in use at some point & wear is commensurate. It is structurally sound & there are no cracks or chips but there is some paint loss & discoloration. About 2-1/2″ tall & 6″ wide. Signed underneath, circa 1950′s. This Old Hopi Pueblo Pottery Bowl is one of a kind & look as you may, her work is extremely hard to find! Lucy has a bowl in the permanent collection of the Smithsonian Institutes’ National Museum of the American Indian. There is no additional information available on her.
