Large Vintage Eugene White 1940s California Pottery Copper Lidded Serving Bowl

Eugene White pieces were produced from 1942 – 1948. This beautiful terra-cotta bowl has a wonderful hand-hammered lid. The bowl is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. The bowl does have crazing throughout – but Eugene made most of his pieces with a decorative crackle glaze so this piece probably came out of his studio this way. Other than that here are no chips or cracks to the bowl. The underside of the bowl is inscribed with “Eugene White California” in script. This bowl measures 13 3/4″ in diameter and is 2 5/8″ high from flat surface (table) to rim. The lid is hand-hammered with a piece of glazed ceramic as the handle – trapped by a copper strap riveted to the lid with 2 tiny copper studs. I have not touched the copper in terms of cleaning so you have a vintage patina! Don’t let this piece pass you by – particularly if you live in Arts & Crafts / Craftsman home! Set includes 1 each open sugar bowl (2″H x 4″L x 3″W) and creamer pitcher (3 1/2″H x 4″L x 3 1/4″W). Deep brown exterior with lighter cream-colored glaze inside. Sugar bowl is in MINT to NEAR MINT condition! Super clean with no nicks, dings, chips, cracks, or discoloration. Creamer is AS FOUND, with chip in spout and radiating hairline, as pictured.
