Fresh out of a Northern California estate and just in time for the fall season! 16 Piece Studio Art Pumpkin Set! 1 soup bowl(signed) with lid & ladle. 4 soup bowls(signed). 1 footed tea pot with lid. 1 pitcher or gravy serve(signed). 1 salt and pepper set with lids. 1 covered dish(signed) with lid. 16 individual hand crafted pieces! This set is sure to delight, its very charming and well crafted. Lovely pale pumpkin soup color! Soup tureen measures 9.5″ inches tall, 6.5″ inches in diameter. Ladle measures 11.5 inches long. Bowls measure 3.5″ x 4.5″ inches. Lidded dish measures 7.25″ in diameter, 6.5″ tall. Footed tea pot measures 7.5″ across, 6.75″ inches tall. Nice vintage condition, small flea bit inside rim of soup tureen as shown, does not show unless the lid is off. Please see all photos! Tribe: Santa Clara Pueblo. Pottery Construction: Hand Coiled. Type of Pottery: Small Bowl. Firing Method: Outdoor Wood Fireplace. Era: Contemporary (1980s- present). Age: Circa 1980s- early 2000s. Denise Chavarria continues inthe path of her grandmother, Teresita Naranjo, and her mother, Stella Chavarria, making traditional black on black pottery for which Santa Clara is well-known. Clay near the pueblo isgathered, cleaned and prepared. Thetraditional hand coiling method is used to create the shape of the pot. It isfired in an outdoor pit and hand polished. Since the 1990s Denise hasparticipated in and won awards at the Santa Fe Indian Market, the New MexicoState Fair and the Eight Northern Pueblos Arts & Crafts Show. This pot has a dramaticcarved swirl around the entire body of the highly polished pot. Artist: Eleanor Pino Griego. Pottery Construction: Hand Coiled. Type of Pottery: Large Bowl. Firing Method: Outdoor Wood Fireplace. Era: Contemporary (1980s- present). Age: Circa 1980s- early 2000s. Eleanor Pino Griego, a member of the Coyote Clan, was born in 1953 in the Zia pueblo. She learned the traditional methods of polychrome pottery making from her grandmother, Ascension Galvan Pino and her mother, Laura Pino. She gathers and cleans the local clay of Zia, builds the shape of her bowl or jar using the traditional coil method and paints her designs using the pigments from local vegetation. This large polychrome bowl is decorated with birds and a geometric pattern. The lower portion of this large beautiful bowl has water damage. This damage is reflected in the reduced price of the bowl. ABSOLUTELY STUNNING HUGE CERAMIC VESSEL CENTERPIECE BOWL ARTIST NATALIE WARRENS 2011, MEASURING 14″ WIDE X 5″ TALL IN EXCELLENT CONDITION WITH NO FLAWS. HER UNIQUE AIRBRUSH AND HAND PAINTED TECHNIQUE IS HIGHLY SPOKEN OF BY OTHER ARTIST. ABOUT THE ARTIST: Natalie Warrens ceramics are extremely fine thin pieces that challenge ideas of weight and gravity and celebrate boldness of color. Her airbrush and hand painted designs are finished with a high gloss clear glaze which adds a luminous glass-like quality to her work. Warrens is a graduate of Portland State University and earned a Master of Fine Arts in Ceramics at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 1986. I wheel throw or hand-build earthenware clay into traditional and sculptural forms that are first bisque fired, then decorated. My intention is to push the clay to its physical limits. I throw extremely fine thin pieces and construct slab-built forms which visually challenge ideas of weight and gravity. Once bisque fired, I airbrush and hand paint my designs using low-fire vibrant colored underglazes. Finally, I apply a high-gloss clear glaze fired to 1800 degrees. The combination of the thinness of the clay, the smooth surface decoration, and the reflective clear glaze gives the work a luminous glass-like quality.
