On offer is the lovely vintage low bowl made by Rookwood Pottery in 1929 in Cincinnati, Ohio. This bowl features a beautiful aqua/blue/green glaze over a lighter colored base. The bowl is molded and has a band of well-defined lily pads and waterlilies in high and low relief around the shoulder of the piece. The piece is in great condition and must have been used for several years to display flowers as there are water stains inside the bowl, please see pics. It shows well and is a harder to find example of Rookwood pottery. The piece is about 5.5 inches in diameter, the opening is about 4 3/8 in. It is approximately 3 inches tall. The bowl has 4 feet which elevate it. From surface and give it more prominence. This bowl would be an excellent addition to a Rookwood collection and would be a nice accent piece in an Arts and Crafts/Mission setting. It will be mailed from our smoke, pet free home. Offering this set of four studio pottery bowls by Guillermo Cuellar. They have a wonderful white shino glaze with black abstract decoration. All are in excellent condition, no damage or repairs. They are all approx. 2 1/2 inches high, 6 1/2 inches wide on top and 2 1/4 inches wide on the bottom. Items are insured and tracking is uploaded for your protection as well as mine. THIS PIECE IS A FINE EXAMPLE OF THE ARTIST’S KEEN INSIGHT IN BRIDGING TRADITIONAL TO CONTEMPORARY METHODS IN THE USE OF THE POTTERS WHEEL WITH A KNOWLEDGE OF MODERN DAY CHEMISTRY. KURT LOUIS WILD WAS BORN NOVEMBER 22, 1931 AND RECEIVED HIS ART EDUCATION IN SCHOOLS IN WISCONSIN AND MICHIGAN BEFORE JOINING THE FACULTY AT THE UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN-RIVER FALLS IN 1960. HE REMAINED ON THE FACULTY UNTIL HIS RETIREMENT IN 1993, HOLDING DIFFERENT POSITIONS AS INSTRUCTOR, CHAIRMAN OF THE ART DEPARTMENT AND ASSISTANT DEAN OF THE COLLEGE OF ARTS AND SCIENCES DURING THOSE 33 YEARS.
