Description: This English earthenware sugar bowl with lid and decorative flower final is beautifully decorated in a purple and blue sponged swirl pattern on a white background. Standing 4 ¾ inches tall, this timeless treasure is perfect for those who admire English pottery and appreciate authentic period aging and early craftsmanship. Sponged Purple & Blue Blended Pattern. Flower Shape Finial – Handle. Interior and Exterior Glaze. Note : Please refer to “Condition” below and review all photographs before purchasing. Circa: 1800s – Early 1900s. Dimensions: Overall Height: 4 ¾” (with lid), Height: 4″ (bowl only), Width: 4 1/8″ (at top of bowl), Base: 3 ¼”. Product Weight : 14.1 ounces. Color: Purple & Blue Color Tones (Purplish-Blue). Maker: Unknown – No Maker Marks. Origin: Likely originated from England. (Acquired in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania). Condition is commensurate with age and use. No chips, cracks or repairs. Some discoloration/staining under lid and interior (as shown). Some nicks around interior lip of bowl. Light wear to base. ½ glaze scrape on side of exterior footed base. One side appears to have a slight raised seam line from the making which extends down to the footed base. At bottom of footed base, a very slight separation in the glaze (as shown). Please notice lid was decorated more in in an all-over purple color where rim is blue. We strongly believe this is the way it was crafted. Please be sure this is suitable for your taste.
