Vintage bowl made by PETERS POTTERY in Mound Bayou, Mississippi. This is a casserole bowl, approximately 7″ diameter x 2 3/4″ tall. It is the famous nutmeg color and features beautiful ribbing on the sides. It is signed on the bottom. Would be a great gift. Found in the estate of a 92 year old woman in Mississippi.

Amazing green Pereco flower bowl with a matching, removable lily pad-shaped flower frog. It has been carefully scrutinized under excellent lighting. One chip/ bruise (pic two) and a couple of tiny glaze flakes where the bowl bumped into something harder than it is (too small to show up on the camera, but noted for accuracy). One glaze flake/ or tiny chip on the lily pad, near the bottom of pic 11. No other chips, no breaks or repairs noted. Black light tested as well. Condition is USED, as found, so please expect crazing, pinholes, extra bits of clay/blobs, wear marks, silvery pencil-like marks, rust stains, black marks etc… Keep in mind this was hand-painted approximately 100 years ago, so glaze may be uneven in areas. Please note there are various speckles of paint spatter from previous owner(s). Could use a good cleaning. Measures approximately wide, with an opening about 8 1/4wide. Stands about 3 tall. Approximately 5 1/4 opening. If you need more photos, just ask.. I have downsized drastically and have nowhere to display “my pretties”. This bowl is unmarked but is identified in the collector’s guide. Sanford’s Guide to Peters & Reed / The Zane Pottery Company. By Martha and Steve Sanford as the #9 bowl in the highly-desirable Persian Ware finish. This gorgeous arts-and-crafts piece has a deep, matte brown glaze that has a degree of iridescence and light peppering in the glaze. The Mission-style motif is a raised design of eucalyptus or perhaps gumtree leaves, branches and berries encircling the bowl. This bowl is in excellent condition with no chips, no cracks, some minor crazing, and no repairs. There is a very small glaze flake on one of the branches that reveals the red clay beneath. I found glaze pops and drips, glaze pinholes and glazed-over clay tags inside the bowl. Stilt marks and mold seams are visible. There is also very-minor scuffing from gentle use and light mineral deposits inside. This piece most likely dates to the 1920′s. This bowl is almost 8-1/2″ wide at the shoulder, 3-1/4″ tall, and 6 wide at the rim opening. It’s relatively clean both inside and out. Check out all 9 photos! Unknown maker – reminiscent of Peters & Reed. Attractive bowl has Arts & Crafts styling with intricately decorated top edge. The matte glazing is teal with touches of green on the pattern. Measures 9 1/2″ wide x 3 1/4″ tall. There is a little factory’dent’ on the bottom edge that has been glazed over. A beautiful addition to any collection.
