I got this from a fine estate in Cambridge, Massachusetts. I was told that this bowl is a study bowl from the Song Dynasty. The lady of the estate received the bowl as a gift many years ago and did not know much more about it. The bowl is about 1 1/2″ high and about 4 1/4″ in diameter. It has some wear and small chips from age. Check out the photos! Visit my other auctions for 4 other Song Dynasty bowls from the same estate!
Good Condition, signs of ageing, but no chips or any other damage or repairs.
Measuring 11.5cm wide it is in good condition with 2 chips and a nibble to the rim, and general wear to the glaze indicative of immersion in sea water for centuries – a number of Chinese shipwrecks with intact cargoes have been recovered over the last few decades, so this is presumably from one of them but it is unlabelled. This piece is unconditionally guaranteed to be of the date and origin specified. Ancient Chinese Song/Yuan Dynasty Pottery Shipwreck Bowl. They will be very securely wrapped & protected. I have collected glass and ceramics, antiques and antiquities for many years, and my shop philosophy is to sell very good antiques at very low prices very quickly so I do not need to carry much stock; larger shops will charge much more, but take much longer than I do to make a sale. I try to describe everything I sell as honestly as possible, including any damage, issues, or attributions to a maker, in my descriptions. Please dont ever leave negative or neutral feedback without speaking to me we can always come to a solution. Auctiva offers Free Image Hosting and Editing. Track Page Views With.
