Such an intriguing piece is actually even rarer than the 1930s works, which are more difficult to locate than Cowan. Great place for beginners and advanced collectors to mingle and learn more about Cowan and other art pottery.

Boris Chatman was born in Russia, studied art in Paris, lived and worked in Spain and North Africa and later emigrated to the U. On 6/09/1952 – An exhibition of his work alongside ceramicists, Miss Rose Krebs and Boris Chatman, was on view. He sometimes used a scratched or painted BC into the clay as pictured. He expired in August of 1965. This fantastic pottery ceramic bowl is part of his legacy. Bowl measures 8.25″ in diameter x 3.5″ tall. Overall in very good condition for age, showing some pinpoint clay marks from firing. A very unique art piece that will never be duplicated and very worthy of any fine art collector.
