Museum Qty Marked Ajiki Hiro Mingei Pottery Chawan Tea Bowl Shoji Hamada. MINT – Museum quality Marked Hiro. Ajiki Hiro Chawan tea bowl with Carbon Trap Shino Glaze. New – Mint Condition. A beautiful Marked Ajiki Hiro Shino with carbon trap glazed Chawan tea bowl. The bowl measures 4 3/4 x 4 inches wide x 2 3/4 inches high. This is an opportunity to own a wonderful authentic piece of Ajiki Hiro’s work. 1987 Grand Prize at the Modern Tea Forms Exhibition (Chanoyu zokei ten) at the Tanabe Museum of Art located in Matsue, Shimane Prefecture. The annual exhibition, established in 1984, celebrated the fifth anniversary of the museum. The competition is juried by many of Japan’s top critics, most prominently by Hayashiya Seizo. Hundreds of works are submitted each year for the six-member jury (again won in 2000 and 2003). A large and colorful console bowl with handles and a design of zephyr lilies that is glazed in warm tones. The designs on the front and back are different, and they are deeply molded. The rounded shallow foot is unglazed and shows the buff colors of the clay body. The base is glazed. There is a molded mark on the base that reads Roseville U. 8 – 10 There is a handwritten letter H and the number 22 in black on the base. 10 ¾” (27.3 cm) diameter x 4 ½” (11.4 cm) tall. Weighs 2 lbs 15.8 oz (1340 g). There are no breaks, cracks, or repairs. There is an old and tiny glaze frit on the rim that has been worn nearly smooth. The glazes feel very smooth. There are manufacture flaws like pin hole reserves. The bowl has a nice soft aged appearance. A great bowl to hold fruit, flowers or nothing. A great addition to a Roseville collection. Offering this Warren Mackenzie large vintage footed bowl from a collector’s private collection. It has a very nice shino white-tan glaze with iron spots and finger swipe decoration. It measures 2 3/8 inches high, 10 1/4 inches wide on top and approx. 5 1/2 inches wide across the feet. It is a great piece even with the minor flaw. WELLER Baldin APPLE Large BOWL/JARDINIERE Vintage Art POTTERY Woodcraft 1920s. A beautiful vintage Weller jardiniere vase from the Arts & Crafts period. The Baldin line was designed by Rudolph Lorber (Austrian) for the Sam A. Weller Pottery Company and produced by Weller from 1915-20. This design features leafy branches with apples decorating the entire vase, the pattern is different on all sides. The matte glaze uses soft autumn colors in rust, green, yellow, brown and muted red. The inside of the vase is olive green. The bulbous shape is perfect for the design and accentuates the sculpted apples and branches. The vase stands 4″ tall, the base has a diameter of 4″, the top is 7.25 in diameter. Stamped in incised letters “Weller” on the bottom. ITEM(S) EXACTLY AS SHOWN IN THE PICTURES.
