An authentic antique, Islamic medieval 11th – 13th century A. (391 AH 700 AH), central Asia – Bamiyan, sgraffito, earthenware, terracotta bowl with flaring body rising from a short foot. The center of the interior incised (hence Sgraffiato) with central medallion with stylized flowery rosette motif, the surface of the walls incised with a zigzag motif divided by vertical splashed green lines radiating from the center, all on the cream-colored glaze background. CONDITION: Showing its age and usage with beautiful old patina caused by the earthen minerals, clean breaks glued together. Most of the authentic antique medieval Islamic ceramic, including those in the famous museums, are broken and repaired, some of them have as many as 60 % missing parts, and have been restored.
