Up for your consideration is a very fine antique Persian art pottery bowl, dating from the mid-19th Century (or earlier). The bowl features stylized bird design with a yellow border, on a cream white background. The piece measures 9.75″ in diameter, and about 3″ tall. The bowl is completely hand-thrown and kiln glazed. Overall, the piece is in very good, age-typical condition. There is an age/firing cracks (as shown), and some minor flaking/roughness/small chips to the upper rim, as is common for pieces of this vintage. The piece is structurally solid, and presents well. The bowls are in good vintage condition with crazing, imperfections and surface wear, as depicted. They measure 7″ in diameter x 2″ high.

Antique Islamic Medieval 11th13th c Central Asia Bamiyan Sgraffito Pottery Bowl. Antique Islamic Medieval 11th13th century A. Central Asia Khwarezmian Empire Bamiyan Sgraffito Pottery Bowl. An authentic antique, Islamic medieval 11th – 13th century A. (391 AH 700 AH), central Asia – Bamiyan, sgraffito, earthenware, terracotta bowl with flaring body rising from a short foot. The center of the interior incised (hence Sgraffiato) with central medallion with stylized flowery rosette motif, the surface of the walls incised with a zigzag motif divided by vertical splashed green lines radiating from the center, all on the cream-colored glaze background. CONDITION: Showing its age and usage with beautiful old patina caused by the earthen minerals, clean breaks glued together. Most of the authentic antique medieval Islamic ceramic, including those in the famous museums, are broken and repaired, some of them have as many as 60 % missing parts, and have been restored.
