2 Ady Kroyer Johansen Pottery Bowls. Pair of folk art style pottery bowls each with a dancing couple and a musician. The signed mid century bowls were made by Ady Kroyer Johansen of Denmark. The oval bowls are 8 1/2″ by 6 3/4″. They are 2 1/2 tall at the higher sides. One bowl has a chip on the rim and a couple glaze flakes on the base. The other has some glaze pits in the center and scratches on the exterior. The bowls have light wear and some marks mainly along the rims. The exterior has a metallic finish which is spotty in some areas.
Vintage Fantasia Dancing Mushrooms Dish or Planter / Vernon Kilns Pottery Calif. This is the best dish or planter. It is So amazing. This has the dancing mushrooms, the nutcracker sequence, from the 1940′s Disney Movie Fantasia. It was hand painted and then glazed. It is 12 in x. The stamp on the back says. Made in the USA. It does not have the word Disney on it like some others I have seen. I asked the owner about it at an estate sale. She got it when her children were young. She looked to be in her late 60′s to early 70′s to give you a time frame. She said it could have been left off by mistake or Disney was not stamped on it yet. If you are a collector you might know a lot more about this item. I can tell you there is not one chip or crack on this item and it is so whimsical and wonderful. Vintage Pair Of Hedi Schoop Vases/Figurines Of Floral Dancing Twin Girls w/ Fans. Although not completely identical, when either back to back or facing one another, these twins are both incredibly beautiful in their matching floral dresses and fans. Dancing in sync, their fans are raised above their heads as they lean back with one foot lifted off the floor and peaking out under a flared dress. Both are signed underneath by Hedi Schoop Hollywood, CAL. One of them has the letter H while the other one has the letter O also printed underneath them. Excluding a minor chip at the bottom of the dress of one of the ladies, They are both in excellent condition with no other breaks, cracks, or crazing. Item under consideration is a Vintage’Strutting and Dancing’ Creamer and Sugar Bowl set, presented in a bronze metallic glazed finish, designed and fabricated by renowned pottery/ceramics artist Michael Lambert. Set design is both creative and utilitarian. Bottoms of creamer and sugar bowl are unglazed and signed by the artist, Lambert. About the artist: Michael Lambert designed and made pottery in his Santa Cruz, California studio from 1967 until his recent retirement. He is best known for his anthropomorphic style vases, coffeepots, teapots, etc. That mimic the movement and flow of the human body, captured in a whimsical style. His work has been featured in many publications, including American Craft, and has been on the cover of Ceramics Monthly. After an extensive formal design education and workshop training, Michael Lambert establish his pottery/ceramics studio in Santa Cruz, California in 1967. He quickly established his own unique style, his products consisted of stylized utilitarian coffee pots, sugar bowls, creamers, vases, pitchers, candlestick holders, etc. Michael says’ceramics is a serious business, but, it can be fun too. He wanted his work to show respect for the beautiful, structural pots of the past, but, also to be fresh and, at times, playful. I try to design functional pieces which are both personal and also quite structured that neither wheel thrown potters, nor ceramic factories can achieve.
