Rookwood bowl created in 1921. Fully marked on the base with Rookwood logo, date, and shape 2128. It has been well-kept, clean and intact. This is a beautiful Rookwood collectible piece. Measurements: H: 2″ D: 4.5″.
The ceramic bowl is cylindrical in shape. The brown clay body is glazed in mottled shades of green over a pale blue with a deep brown coloration surrounding the bottom and the outer base rim. Signed on bottom “Harding Black 1958″. The bowl measures 4 1/16″ in height, 7 7/8″ in diameter at the upper rim and 2 11/16 in diameter at the base. DURING HER 50 YEARS AS A MEMBER OF THE DAUGHTERS OF THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION, SHE SERVED AS REGENT OF THE CORPUS CHRISTI CHAPTER AND AS CHAIR OF THE HISTORICAL PRESERVATION COMMITTEE OF ITS TEXAS SOCIETY. SHE ALSO SERVED AS PRESIDENT OF THE CLARA DRISCOLL CHAPTER OF THE DAUGHTERS OF THE REPUBLIC OF TEXAS AND AS PRESIDENT OF THE OLD BAYVIEW CHAPTER OF THE NATIONAL SOCIETY UNITED STATES DAUGHTERS OF 1812.

Hi, call for cash / z elle / check discount. # on front page of store. Vintage original modern owl sculpture from the 1960s, signed Ellen Fergus, a California Artist. Original mid century modern owl figurine from the 1960s in California. The owl is partially glazed in an off-white color on the head and face. The glaze goes all the way down the back side. Fergus was a graduate of the Chouinard Art institute, and a known artist and sculptor in Southern California during the 1960s. She taught classes in clay figure sculpture for the public and had a studio in Sierra Madre. The Chouinard Art Institute of Los Angeles was founded in 1921 by Nelbert Murphy Chouinard, and later with the help of Roy and Walt Disney merged with The Los Angeles Conservatory of Music to become what is now the California Institute of the Arts or CALARTS. Beautiful set of 3 Roseville. Set includes the console bowl with 2 candlesticks. These pieces are in excellent condition. They have been loved their whole life kept in a humidity free environment. There are no chips or scratches anywhere on these pieces. The bowl does have crazing on the bottom (please see all photos). The bowl is numbered 393-12 and the candlesticks are numbered 1143.
