RARE c. 1820 YELLOW GLAZED CANARY WARE BOWL TRANSFERWARE STAFFORDSHIRE MINT

First of all, this stunning bowl is canary ware not yellow ware. Canary ware is pottery with a rich yellow glaze applied over white clay, whereas the color in yellow ware comes from the clay not the glaze. This rare bowl is decorated with attractive black transfer scenes on both sides of the bowl of a couple enjoying tea outdoors with a servant and dog watching them. The detail in the transfer patterns is very crisp and is even more stunning in person than as shown in the photos. Measuring 6 ½ in diameter the bowl is in original mint condition with no damage or repairs. The inside of the foot rim has a void in the clay from molding and doesn’t detract when upright. The bowl rings like a bell when you tap the rim.

This hard-to-find bowl is ABSOLUTELY STUNNING!! This pattern represents the best design in white banded bowls and. The bowl features not only raised white bands, but also a molded raised. Design on the bottom half of the bowl. This bowl is extremely rare and is the most difficult of all the white banded bowls to find. Over the raised waffle design. These bowls were made in graduated sizes, this bowl measures 8 ½” in diameter by 3 ¾” high. The bowl is nicely molded and is in original mint condition with no damage or repairs. This bowl was fired at a high temperature and rings like a bell when you tap the rim. This is a wonderful bowl that would be a great accent piece. To any yellow ware collection.

Here we have an attractive antique American bowl in a unique pattern. This is an Ohio Valley piece of yellow ware dating to the 1870s. During this period there were hundreds of potters along the Ohio River, each trying to survive and create a market for their wares, hence the unique band pattern in this set. This bowl is decorated with three raised bands, two wide white and one mocha. The bowl has a pronounced rounded rim and foot. The rounded rim was a feature added to bowls to make it easier to pick them up without the bowl slipping out of your hands. These bowls made in graduated sizes, this bowl measures 12″ in diameter by 5 ½” high. This attractive bowl is free of damage and survives in its original condition after 150 years of use.

Here we have a stunning bowl with a single bold white band. The bowl is nicely formed with a rolled rim and foot and a raised round foot. The clay is a warm yellow color that nicely accents the bold wide band. Measuring 10 ¼” in diameter by 5″ high, this is a very desirable bowl in original mint condition with no damage or repairs. There is a section on the white band where the potter ran out of white glaze. Dating to the mid-1800s, bowls with this banding pattern are very rarely found and are highly collectable.

Here we have a tiny yellow ware bowl in a pattern seldom found. This bowl is decorated with 5 brown bands and a single white band. The brown glaze was thickly applied, you can feel the raised bands with your finger tip. This tiny bowl measures only. 4 ¼” in width across the rim by 2 ¼” in height. This bowl is a beauty and is in its original condition. And is the smallest size bowl in this highly desirable pattern. The last photo shows this and the next larger size bowl in this rare pattern. This little bowl would be prized by any yellow ware or country collector.

Here we have a very rare and tiny blue and white band yellow ware bowl. Measuring only 3 ¾” in width across the rim by 2″ in height this little bowl is a beauty and is in original mint condition with no damage or repairs. The bowl is decorated with 2 thin raised white bands and a raised blue band. This has a square shoulder and a delicate raised foot rim that shows no sign of wear.
