For Sale Vintage Mid Century Edith Heath Ceramics Studio Pottery Hand Thrown Bowl. You may see some additional pieces in the near future. This is, however, probably the best piece I own. I have never seen another example of this form. Early (perhaps 1940′s, probably 1950′s). Some of Edith’s earliest pieces had this egg shell glaze. Hand thrown and hand signed. In excellent vintage condition. No chips or cracks of any kind. There are a couple of small yellowish marks on the inside (pictured). No idea if they are original to manufacture or not. You can’t even see them unless you look closely. The glaze is slightly uneven under the lip (pictured). There is a thin region along one side, about 12 long maybe. That’s what you get with hand made… This is a BIG bowl at approx. 12″ across (and about 3″ tall). If you appreciate Edith’s work you’ll love this bowl. It’s just that good.
