Vintage Pottery Bowls

Wonderful HUGE McCarty Pottery Lidded Water Bottom Vessel or Bowl. Signed McCarty Merigold Miss. This lidded bowl has an exquisite sophisticated shape demonstrating the elegance of this McCarty design. Vessel measures approx 9 1/2 inches across and approx 5 1/2 inches high. The bottom bowl has NO chips or cracks. The lid has a possible chip on the inside edge of the interior lid lip which rests inside the bottom bowl (see pic). I’m not sure if this is a chip, or a firing clay pop which occurred at the time it was made. It is only noticeable upon close inspection, but I want to be clear about the piece’s condition. As can be seen in another pic it is not visible when looking at the lid from the side (the black pen points to its location in the pic). Also there are two large bubbles in the glass water bottom glaze which have popped. These occurred at the time of manufacture and can only be seen when looking at the lid from a shallow angle and illuminated by a side light. I photographed the lid in this manner which shows the pops in the most exaggerated manner as they are hard to see when looking at the vessel from any other angle.
