This well made and skillfully decorated Acoma Pueblo polychrome bowl has numerous flea bites and dings with no cracks. Approximately 6 3/4″ tall and approximately 8 1/4″ wide. Quite large so sounds like a gong more than a bell when tapped! A beautiful, polychrome bowl for any collection. A classic 1970s era ACOMA food bowl sized pot with wonderful polychrome design elements, and a nice size for displaying. Adrienne Roy Keene is a traditional potter born into Acoma Pueblo in 1956. Her mother, Juanita Keene, taught her everything she knew about making traditional Acoma pottery and today, Adrienne is one of the finest miniature artists at Acoma Pueblo. She began producing pottery for the marketplace around 1970. She utlizes intricate painted Anasazi and Mimbres designs in her work. Over the years she has won numerous awards at the Heard Museum Guild Indian Art Market & Fair and more than 10 awards since 1980 at the Santa Fe Indian Market, including Best of Division and Collector’s Choice. Her earlier pots are signed A. Roy ” , while her later ones added the name ” KEANE as well. All hand coiled pottery, traditionally fired, and painted with a yucca brush.
