Vintage Mexican Clay Feather Pottery. Beige Flora Fauna Flowers. Tecomate Folk Art Bowl. Please make an offer. Any and all offers are considered. This could be yours quickly! Vintage Mexican folk art. Tecomate clay pottery bowl. A tecomate bowl is shaped by hand. Into a gourd form using coils of clay. And the surface was finished by burnishing. The very word tecomate means gourd. The coil striations can be subtly seen. On the exterior, felt and seen on the interior. Hand painted and shaped by hand. Beige background with a neutral. Circular motif of feathered leaves. And flowers, flora and fauna. I photographed this bowl slowly. Working around the motif to capture. The intricacy and perfection in detail. The paint is still vibrant in its neutrality. The glaze still has a wonderful sheen to it. The bottom has a definitive circular. Black ink stamp MADE IN MEXICO. Along with a penciled French number seven. Measures 5 and 1/2 in height. Opening at top is. 3 and 1/2 in diameter. (as seen in photos). There are 4 Place Settings which includes a salad plate which actually doubles as a plate for the bowl because its somewhat indented in the middle to accommodate the bowl which has a base on it, dinner plate and soup bowl x 4. They are Handmade, ribbed, matte finish, in Excellent Condition, no chips scratches or cracks. No signatures or initials that I can see. Dinner Plates are 11 in diameter. Salad Plates are 7.25 in diameter. Bowls are 3 deep x 4.75 in diameter. Rustic yellow glazed interior and rim, with unglazed exterior. Nicely preserved, in excellent vintage condition showing age appropriate wear and evidence of use over decades. No cracks noted; wear to glaze on interior, with one area of deeper wear through glaze at the bottom of the interiorrefer to last photo for more detail. Rim intact and remarkably well preserved. Please review all photos for an accurate depiction of condition. Dimensions diameter 9.6 inches. Weight 3 lbs 10 ounces. Really beautiful antique jug. This piece has a great look and is in beautiful condition for its age. It shows use and has some wear to the edges of the clay as you can see form the photos. Vintage (70′s) McCarty MS Pottery Platter, Old Faulkner Clay, Textured, MINT

50+ year old 11.5″ X 14″ platter that is in a beautiful “Nutmeg” colored glaze, with a texture of linen over entire platter. Has drips of creamy white glaze on the back. Made in the old red-brown clay (see where signature goes thru glaze on the back to clay) with old signature by Lee McCarty, front (written in glaze) and back (Merigold, MS well known potter that is now deceased) in the 70′s. Somewhat asymmetrical sides and sides curve up. What is interesting is this piece has “TEXTURE” on it – almost like Lee took cloth and wrapped it around and you can see the texture from the cloth – look closely at closeup pics. Made out of brown MS clay, we always understood that it was likely from William Faulkner’s property in Oxford, MS. Formed and painted by Lee (or Pup). Double Signed and is a classic McCarty. All in fine shape – NO FLAWS at all – NO CHIPS, FLEA BITES, CRACKS, ETC. This can also be picked up in Jackson, MS FREE of charge. Thank you and please let me know if you have any questions.
