Available for sale is a quite unusual & rare blue & white stenciled Wildflower covered roaster. Produced by Brush McCoy in southeastern Ohio & dates from 1905 – 1925. This is the very first covered roaster. I’ve seen through the years. The roaster has an exceedingly high domed cover. The large wide base has four (4) blue stenciled Wildflowers. Around & two accent bands. The domed cover has three (3) Wildflower designs & two bands as well. The stenciling is sharp & crisp & has great color contrast. The base has a recessed rim to accommodate. The cover from slipping. It measures 4 3/8″ in height & 10 3/8″ in diameter. The domed cover measures. 3 1/8″ in height & 9 3/4″ in diameter. Together, complete, the covered roaster measures 7 1/4 in height! The base has two shallow flakes on the exterior rim measuring 1/4″ & 1/2″, no other damage. Shallow flakes seen on the interior recessed rim are inmanufacture & are the result of air bubble pops. The cover is in very good condition with a single 2 3/4″ thru hairline at the rim (2″ on exterior side), see. No other damage, no repairs. As seen, the domed cover has a recessed button finial grip & can. Be inverted to be used as a serving bowl as well. Also pictured, the cover can be nested into the base.
