This heavy little piece has an arts-and-crafts motif of lotus leaves encircling the bowl. The bowl is in excellent, near-mint condition with no chips, no cracks, no crazing and no repairs. The piece is 3-1/2″ tall, 5″ wide at the shoulder, and 3-1/4 wide at the top rim opening. The base of the pottery is stamped with the Rookwood Pottery flame mark, the shape number 1089D and the production year XXIX (1929) with stilt marks visible on the base and stray marks under the glaze. This gorgeous glaze is a thick, matte yellow ochre or perhaps butterscotch glaze with a beautiful arts-and-crafts appeal. The bowl is very clean both inside and out with what appear to be tiny scuff marks from gentle use. Check out all 8 photos! This lovely cabinet piece would be perfect for any Rookwood or American art pottery collector. Check out my other pottery listings! Please let me know if you have questions.
