Offered is a beautifully hand-thrown David Shaner studio pottery tea bowl from a ceramic artist’s collection that included works from Sam Chung, Karen Karnes, Otto Heino, Don Reitz, Jeff Oestrich, Paul Soldner and Tom Coleman. The vessel features a rich metallic bronze reduction glaze with subtle blue iridescence around the rim and dramatic black glaze runs. The interior is finished in a deep blue glaze, creating a striking contrast with the exterior. The form is elegant and tactile, with a rounded profile and small foot. Bronze, copper, blue, and black tones. This piece came from the same collection as other pottery identified as David Shaner – see picture #7. A wonderful addition for collectors of American studio ceramics. Bowl measures 3.5″ x 3.5″.
