This bowl shows a wonderful intricate bird design at the center with additional wing designs on the inside edges of the bowl and what looks to be a squash blossom design around the outer rim. This polychrome bowl has been beautifully designed and crafted. It is very smooth to the touch and has been beautifully polished. The bowl measures 9.5 inches across and 2.5 high. The bowl is signed on the bottom by Clara. It is in excellent vintage condition. Clara is a listed artist in Gregory Schaaf’s “Hopi-Tewa Pottery”. She lived in the village of Sichomovi at Hopi and was an active potter from 1960. She exhibited her work at the Museum of Northern Arizona and has some of pieces are in their permanent collection.
