VINTAGE LOUIS MIDEKE 12 CHECKERBOARD CENTERPIECE BOWL. This beautiful large centerpiece bowl has a. Brown and beige checkerboard pattern with a beige circle on the interior base. The base of the bowl is incised Mideke. The only other pottery piece I have found with this checkerboard pattern is in the Whatcom Museum, however it is a much smaller piece in size. Took inspiration not only from the shape of everyday objects but also from the colors, subtle textures and minimalism found in Asian ceramic traditions.
