Vintage ACOMA PUEBLO Bowl Pottery Signed by LUCY M. Lewis was from the Acoma Pueblo and was the last of the Acoma matriarchs. She was largely responsible for the revival of black and white designs on traditional handcoiled Acoma pottery. Many of these designs are more then 1000 years old. When creating her pottery, Lucy M. Lewis followed pueblo traditions in every step of her pottery making, from prayers during each step, handcoiling and outdoor firing of her pottery. This beautiful bowl measures approx. 3 1/8″ tall x 4 1/4″ wide. Overall it is in really good condition with no cracks, breaks or repairs. It does have quite a few small chips around the entire bowl (see pics). Not sure of it’s date but it was a part of my grandmother’s collection and has been in my family for over 40 years.
