Has obvious age wear. No chips or cracks. See all pictures for details. Thank you for checking out our stuff. A few things we would like you to know about us and our stuff. Some times we are over and some times we are under, in the end it averages out. If its paid for prior to or early on those days, we will get it out. We do not put a lot in descriptions, we take pictures of what it is from various angles, if we see a flaw or problem, that information we WILL put in description. Some of our items come with COA and/or Box others don’t. We try to put that info in descriptions too, but simply put, if its not in the picture, its not part of the sale. Please if anything arrives broken, make a claim against the carrier first and let us know 2nd. We work too hard packing some of this stuff to let it be damaged on the way. We attempt to be totally honest with everything we sell right up front, we do not embellish or make claims as to how great it is, we give you simply a title, and pictures of the item and answer specific questions if you have them. An item from us cannot be “not as described” unless we goof up so bad that we put the wrong thing in the package totally, I blame old age if we ever do that. We have stopped offering make an offer sales, you are welcome to make a fair offer on any item, if we agree to it, we will send you an offer! Most of our stuff comes from User Collectors, meaning that they bought it to display, in cabinets etc. It is stuff they like and while much of it is new, or like new, some still in boxes because they did not have room to put it out, it was not bought to just store in vaults. Our goal is to get it new homes with folks that like it and want it, loving it is a goal and hope that whatever you get from us you do. We hope you find that special something for yourself or someone you care about! Offered here is a Vintage Arizona Native American Hopi Indian Pottery Bowl signed Annette Silas. Native American Hopi bowl signed: Annette Silas. Top of Bowl Diameter: 5 5/8. Very Good with some minor rubbings and scratches on the interior bottom of the bowl. Annette Silas’ mother, Roberta Silas lived in Polacca very near the prehistoric ruins of Sikyatki. On the First Mesa on the Hopi Reservation in Northeast Arizona Roberta was an active potter from 1960 – 1980′s. She was born in 1939 and started making pottery at 21 years old. None of her elders were potters. Roberta learned from helping Feather Woman (Helen Naha) sand and polish and prepare her mud. Roberta hid her work from people until her husband discovered her pottery. To date her pottery has won numerous awards and is collected. Roberta’s original designs are inspired from the pottery shards she found in the ruins of Sikyatki. She would sketch them and incorporate the themes into her work. Annette Silas is one of Roberta’s six of her eight daughters who learned from Roberta and became potters adapting their mother’s designs, style and patterns of painting.
