Vintage Jade Snow Wong Studio Pottery Dish Description and Item Information Up for sale is this vintage studio art pottery dish or bowl by the listed California artist, Jade Snow Wong. Please excuse the glare in the photos. This modernist piece has a biomorphic shape. It is glazed in brown and green, with some terracotta tones to the underside. This item stands approximately 2 1/4 inches tall; it is about 5 15/16 inches long and 5 1/16 inches wide. Unpacked, it weighs 11.4 ounces. This would be a fine addition to a collection of vintage American studio ceramics. Identification This Jade Snow Wong Studio piece is vintage, but the exact age is not known. Wong is listed in the Vasefinder online museum. Per Vasefinder, Wong received a B. From Mills College in 1942; she later received an honorary Ph. From Mills College in 1976. She studied ceramics and enameling with F. Most of her ceramics were created during the 1940s and 1950s; later, she turned her attention to producing enameled copper pieces. Wong exhibited at the Nationals from 1946 to 1950. Condition This piece looks very good overall, with very light wear. There are no cracks or chips. Variations in glazing are as made.
