WELCOME TO MY PAGE. The Market Place Where. You Get What You Need, I Make Few Bucks. LET’S BENEFIT TOGETHER. VINTAGE 1989 HAND CRAFTED STUDIO ART POTTERY SERVING LIDDED DISH BIRDS KILLING SNAKES SIGNED JAMES. The featured item represents a studio pottery serving dish that measures approximately 3 1/2″ tall without the cover and 11″ in diameter at the opening. The piece is about 9 3/4 tall from the floor to the tallest points of the lid’s figurine. The bowl comes with a domed cover and is finished in brown-greenish glaze. The exterior is decorated with hand incised/carved images of birds/chickens, some showing the animals killing a snake. The handles are sculptured in the shape of bird heads. The finial of the lid features a sculpture of a bird with a snake in its beak. The bottom is signed with what looks “JAMES 89″. I find the dish to be an unusual and interesting piece of art but I was not able to identify the artist. The item comes in overall good condition. The only more significant issues are the two broken pieces on the lid’s figure. The tail’s broke piece is present and can be glued back. The one on the bird’s wing is missing. The featured hand crafted studio pottery serving dish will make a great addition to any collection and be an unusual display for any table! Feel free to ask for details or additional pictures.
