Most excellent Nancy Manes Plum studio pottery compote bowl. The glaze, form and condition is just wonderful- a masterful, great hard to find addition for any studio pottery collector. It measures approximately 6.5 inches tall x 9.5 inches including handles, and is signed inside the bottom “Plum”. Feel free to ask questions or ask for more pics, I’m happy to accommodate! No flaws noted About Plum Tree Pottery – John Glick (1938 – 2017), earned his MFA from Cranbrook Academy of Art in 1962, then operated Plum Tree Pottery in Farmington Hills, Michigan, from 1964 through 2016. There he mentored numerous young artists through his assistantship program. Among his accolades are two Louis Comfort Tiffany awards, and two National Endowment for the Arts Fellowships. He was a prolific writer, and his work appears in numerous books on ceramics.

Very strong and nice vintage cherry or plum design handpainted studio pottery with a porcelain clay body. A very substantial and representative item. Produced by Tom and Elaine Colemen around Portland, OR. The Colemans are noted studio potters with pieces in many public and private collections. Author of The Mud Pie Dilema.
