Uncommon Mackenzie Childs vintage hand painted terra cotta / majolica fish planter or center piece. An early piece produced in the Mackenzie Childs studio, in Aurora, New York. No discernable mark, but this is an early work from the original studio. Please see all pictures for full description. Measures approximately 12″ long x 7.5″ wide x 8 high and is in good vintage condition. It has 3 very shallow glaze bumps, flakes/chips, with no pottery loss, and a couple of spots of light crazing. One flake is on the upper lip, (that I believe to be a glaze bubble pop) one is on the tail, and one is on the one of the side openings. Just above a glaze irregularity in photo #8 all very minor. This rustic aspect only adds to the charm of this handmade piece. Thank you for looking!
