She learned the Santa Clara ways, then moved to San Juan Pueblo when she got married. When her grandmother passed away in 1980, Sharon made the decision to make pottery full time. Since then she has specialized in making large blackware jars with carved avanyu designs or with impressed bear paw designs on her polished pots. She also sometimes makes seedpots and vases in black and red ware. In 2003 Sharon won the Best in Show award at the annual Eight Northern Pueblos Arts and Crafts Show. LETS MAKE A DEAL. This nice miniature bowl is in excellent condition with no noted damage or flaws. Measures 1 5/8″ high with a top opening of 7/8″, a maximum width of 2 1/4″ and base diameter of 5/8″. This lovely bowl is signed by Margie Naranjo although the signature is very faint. Sister of Santa Clara potters Mac Tapia and Candelaria Suazo. The rim of the bowl is finished in a rough texture and the bottom has a rippled melon effect. A unique and gorgeous example of Forrest Naranjo’s work. Forrest mixes, hand coils, shapes, etches, and fires his pottery the traditional way, outdoors. Measures approx 2″ tall with 4 1/2″ diameter. Signed by the Santa Clara master potter. Comes with a Certificate of Authenticity. A very beautiful and elegant Santa Clara Multi-Animals pottery bowl brownware pot to add to your collection! Forrest Naranjo comes from a family of notable Santa Clara potters. He is the son of Tito and Bernice Naranjo and the grandson of Rose Naranjo.
