Two charming farmhouse stoneware crocks, milk pan bowls, as found in estate. These were used to hold milk for the day which allowed for the easy skimming of the cream to make butter and cheese. Perfect for display in a country kitchen or use for bread making etc. They have a wide banded rim. There is no glaze underneath the rim and the very top. In the early kitchens, knives were sharpened on this rough edge. As you can see, the smaller bowl has bottom cracks. Bleach will clear away the dirt in the cracks and make them more presentable, still holds liquid well. The very large bowl has normal age imperfections. So many fun uses. Another is storing onions or potatoes. Or use them to hold a collection such as cookie cutters, add color for the holidays and sit on your harvest table. Largest measures 13.25″ in diameter and 5.75″ tall Smaller is approx. 10.5″ diameter by 4.75″ tall These are quite heavy. Will pack very well and insure. See photos for condition and if you have questions or need additional pictures don’t hesitate to ask.
