This Tyg/Loving cup/three-handled cup features a green lustre glaze with iridescent mottling. The exterior is decorated in raised gold with two stylized mythical dragons and a prominent serpent motif. The dragons exhibit sinuous limbs and decorative flourishes in a heraldic stance, while the central serpent is rendered in a fluid coiled position with minimal facial features and banded markings along the back. Each of the three looped handles is highlighted with gold accenting that continues into the rim and base trim. The interior of the cup is finished in a pearlescent mother-of-pearl lustre, providing a vivid contrast to the exterior glaze. The interior base features an intricate gilded design depicting a coiled serpent wrapped around a feline, with facial features that appear expressive and wide-eyed. The piece is marked on the underside with the Wedgwood Portland Vase mark. Dimensions 3″W x 2″H. Date or Era 1920s. Country of Origin England. This small, lidded jar is a Wedgwood Dragon Lustre Dressing Table lidded gilt Celestial Dragon, which has been repairs made to the lid. It appears the lid was broken into 5 pieces, then lovingly, however noticeably restored/repaired. The pot has beautiful deep blue color and bright gilt designs. There’s one small chip on the pot near the top. Still displays very well, and pairs beautifully with the tyg.
