I’ll admit the newer clam shells are not my favorite McCartys pieces because the molds have lost a lot of the delicacy and detail of the older pieces. I don’t know the year this piece was made, but I believe it to have good age because of the clay color and because the mold is crisp and the scallops are deep and well-defined. Even the ribs in the shell are defined making it more realistic. This bowl has a stunning glaze with beautiful markings. It measures 11.5″ from tip to tip and is about 7″ wide.
