CHARMING QUIMPER FRENCH FAIENCE POTTERY FIGURAL DESSERT BOWLS. Set of six (6) rare Art Deco style dessert bowls by Quimper has Breton female figure sitting on the handle. Created in the 1920′s-30′s by artist Georges Renaud, this unusual set is rich brown and cream faience pottery with yellow gold detail. Very good vintage condition with no cracks or chips noted. Please see photos for detail. Each dish is 3 3/4″ in diameter and about 1 7/8″ tall. Each bowl holds about 1/2 cup. Special and rare vintage collectible set. Notes from the Quimper factory in France: This set is part of a collection designed in an era when the company was striving to modernize and update their traditional lines. He was born in Paris, and studied as a sculptor. His relationship with the HB pottery began in 1928 and continued for 0ver forty years. He travelled to Quimper several times a year to create and show new models for consideration. This set was listed in the factory catalogs issued at the end of 1920′s to the beginning of the 1930′s.
